Wellness Retreat - November 7-9 2008- As part of the Wellness series, local artist, Lia Nelson leads a retreat on Watercolor Mandalas.  Creative play becomes a revitalizing and replentasing vacation from ones ordinary everyday experience.  Painting Mandalas is a fun, easy and meaningful way to "get your brushes wet" with watercolor especially if you are a novice.

Supply List:

1. A 12x12 Watercolor tablet cold press

2. Brushes - Quality brushes at least  $4+ :    1 # 2 round, 1 # 8 round, and 1 3/4 inch flat

3. Artist Tape

4. A small 16 well Watercolor Palette

5. Watercolor paint:  Lemon Yellow, Permanent Rose, Pthalo Blue,  (Optionals- Winsor Violet, Cadmium Yellow)

Wellness Retreat -

January 23 - 25 2009 

What is imagination? How does it relate to reality? Does creativity have association with either or both of these? If so,what is the effect?  How may we use the answers to these questions to create wellness?

 Scrapbooking Weekends

Gather your photos, your scrapbooks and supplies, and plan your Scrapbooking Weekend, or come during the week. For each person, we have four square feet of work space that can be left out all weekend. Good lighting, music, a beautiful room to work in, and all the cookies and lemonaide you could want! Two nights are required. Sunday through Thursday nights will receive a 30% discount. Get pages done, have fun, and receive a great breakfast.

 

 Romantic Getaway

Special package includes a two-night stay, a snack basket, fresh flowers and chocolates waiting in your room. Choose the Texas Special and leave the electric fireplace on all night! Dinner for two, one night, at a great restaurant ($40 limit) is also included. Leave the busy world behind and spend some time together. Come walk our Main Street, rock on the porch, hike in the State Park, or do nothing! A claw-footed tub is waiting to relax you with lots of bubblebath. Massages can be arranged with advance notice. After a busy day unwinding, walk one block for dinner. The next morning, awaken to the smell fresh bread and great coffee. This two-night special is $400.00 including tax.

 Getaway with Man's Best Friend

We are a "Pet Friendly" Bed and Breakfast. The two rooms in the back yard are perfect for you and your traveling pet.  Smithville has a wonderful state park three miles away, with hiking trails. Your pet will love our Welsh Corgis, William and Buddy. They will greet your dog and will be willing to play if your dog is in the mood for play. Our yard is fenced, and the only place your dog can't go is in the main house.

During last spring, Smithville had a movie being filmed in the town. It was "Tree of Life", starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. Park your car and walk to shopping and meals and movie sites.
