As we approach our sixth year of owning the historic Katy House, I've been slowing down to reflect on what it means to be caretakers of this home - and your guest experience. Running a bed and breakfast in a fast-changing world brings plenty of questions: Are we doing enough? Are we doing it right? Will they come back? But those questions quiet quickly when we witness guests gather around our breakfast table, when the rocking chairs are in use with morning coffee or evening glass of wine, and when we witness the porch swing become a haven for someone's soul - even just for a day or two.

There's no formula here. Our role is simple: to love well - both boldly and quietly. To serve without expectation. And to pray that a heart finds rest within these sweet walls, surrounded by this sweet town.

So, it's on days like this - when we receive incredible, AMAZING news - that I'm reminded just how many lives and family stories this home has impacted over the years. It's humbling. It's energizing. And it's a small proof, there's still a place for quiet porches, homemade breakfasts, and small-town stays that feel like home.
