There's so much I want to say, and share with you about this moment, but let me just start here…this was a miracle in the making. Years in the making.
Carrying on the legacy of service from the two previous Katy House owners is a gift within itself.
To witness the joy and pride in the eyes of The Katy House founders, as they see their vision continue to live and breathe - is absolutely priceless.
To be pictured side-by-side with Bruce - in the Austin American-Statesman Sunday paper - has me in a puddle of tears as I type. I want to forever hold onto his beaming smile and bear hug as we celebrated the moment on the front porch in rocking chairs.
USA Today and Austin American-Statesman reporter, Michael Barnes spent the day in Smithville taking in the sites, the food and the community. He got it. He just got it. Sometimes it's hard to put your finger on that ‘exact’ thing that makes Smithville so special, but Michael absorbed it all and articulated his experience and observations so beautifully. To celebrate and acknowledge so many local businesses means the world!
